Det American Lista

Sindre studies a “dollarglis” in Vanse!

Twenty-six students at Lista Junior High School worked on Amerikakofferten in April 2004. These 21 boys and 5 girls from the ninth grade had the contact between Lista and America on their timetable for a whole week. The students chose tasks they wanted to study in depth involving American fashions in the 1950s, photographing American dollarglis, collecting American recipes and photographing American interiors. They also scanned old photographs that they borrowed from grandparents, neighbors or others.

The project week ended with a gathering in the music room at Lista Junior High. The students exhibited pictures and text from the project week on wall charts and showed an impressive video film made by Tor Edvin and Håkon. American carrot cake and blueberry muffins were served to round off the occasion
